Internal Revenue Service

You may apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) on line and research other data provided by this link: www.irs.gov [^]   Once there, on the top horizontal bar click Business, then on the drop down bar click on Small Business/Self Employed.Next select Employer ID number (EINs) and follow prompts.

Once you click on Small Business in the IRS site as described above, you can click on State Links on the left (IRS) side bar.

This link takes you to a listing of all 50 states(State Index Page). Click on your state and explore the site to find information of interest. Most states provide links to county and municipal sites which will help you learn about  regulations/permits/licenses etc. pertaining to your business.

Great starting point for the uninitiated.

Demographic data by city, state or census tract estimated to 2007 by the Census Bureau.  Useful for identifying areas with likely customers.

Traffic volumes on specific arterial streets in the LV metro area. Data is useful for finding potential, high volume, retail, customer, pass-by exposure.
