On February 4, 2003 the Southern Nevada Chapter was proud to receive a proclamation from the City of Las Vegas, naming February 2003 as "SCORE Southern Nevada" month, in honor of its 30 years of service.

SCORE volunteers provide free business counseling to small business owners who are either just starting out or are already in business. SCORE has over 11,000 volunteers nationwide, operating through 380 Chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories and over the Internet.

Local chapters provide free counseling and low-cost seminars in each of their communities. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate their time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964 to provide management assistance to small businesses, and is a resource partner with the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA). SCORE is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code.
